PRISONS:

Harm Reduction, Support and Advocacy

This is a one day workshop for front line workers and others who work with people that are affected by incarceration. The focus of the workshop is HIV/AIDS prevention and harm reduction methods.

At the training you will learn:
About the Ontario prison systems and how harm reduction fits in
Effective ways to communicate with, and advocate for, prisoners living with HIV
Experiences had by people whose lives are affected by incarceration
Tools that assist ex-prisoners to successfully re-integrate into the community
Specific barriers faced by people released from prison

Date: November 3, 2010
Location: 519 Church Street, wheelchair accessible
Time: 9:30-4:30 (starts at 9:30 sharp and ends by 4:30 pm)

Cost: Free – Lunch is not provided
